LIONS CLUBS TO OFFER FREE VISION SCREENINGS AT LAKESIDE MALL

Several local Lions Clubs of District 8-S are hosting a FREE Vision Screening for children and adults on Saturday August 28th, 2021 from 11am-3pm in the Lakeside Mall Center Court in time with our Annual Lions Awareness Day.

The Lions are an International non-profit service organization with over 1.7 million members worldwide, including over 35 clubs with approximately 1000 Lions in the New Orleans-Houma metropolitan area.  Since 2001, the Lions of Louisiana have conducted more than 352,000 eye screenings throughout the state which resulted in 22,000 plus children being referred for follow-up examination by their doctors

We provided FREE retina screenings, glaucoma screenings, and similar vision checks with the help of our dedicated members and Doctors from Children’s Hospital and LSU Health Sciences Center, all who are volunteering their time.

With school getting back in session, we ALL want to ensure that we setup our children for success. A key way is to ensure that they can see properly to read their lessons, chalkboards, presentations and classroom assignments.

Come join us on Saturday at Lakeside Mall and get your children’s vision checked. With these screenings, we can advise you if a child’s vision needs additional treatment and care, all in the matter of minutes.

Additionally, there will be informational booths for the American Diabetes Association, Louisiana Lighthouse, local law and fire enforcement, the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation, Louisiana Lions Children’s Camp, and other health services in the area.
